I Am the Solution Campaign
The purpose of this public relations campaign is to allow African Americans to feel that they are the solution to a very complex problem that plagues our country because African Americans who suffer certain diseases do not typically participate in clinical trials and receive experimental treatments. The medical community is not aware of the positive and healthful medical data that African Americans can contribute if they participate in clinical trials. Medical data from African Americans who have certain common or rare diseases that disparately affect that population is missing due to the lack of African American representation in clinical research. The campaign advocates that participation in clinical trials allows African Americans to answer complex questions about their health.
